World of Warcraft Item Upgrades Upgrades to items are a method to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats. Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount. Item Level The value of an item's stats base increases when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader you choose and what type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to the number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item. It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet. When deciding whether to buy or sell gear, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a sign of the damage and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item level. The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its ilvl. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat. There are a few theories on how the calculation of an item's level is done. item upgrader that the level of an item is calculated by an equation that determines the value of an item's stats actually are. It is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher value. Item Stats Stats on an item are a significant element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being “the most effective.” The stat mods of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill. Upgrades to the item add by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times at higher prices. Another method of altering the stats of an item is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all sizes and shapes. The affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item. All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items that can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other options for rerolling. Players can choose to upgrade an item by a specific stat, or reroll attaches. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat within that range unless they are a unique item, or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss. This is another aspect that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or selecting which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once. Item Luck A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the strength of those properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the possibility to obtain better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more useful in the early game than later ones because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains. In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading that increase with each item level. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing. Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn with the Luck property, which has the default value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck or to increase the existing Luck of an item up to 140. Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by 5percent. These items are available at the store or constructed using the right ingredients. Item Failure Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails. When you upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.. The success of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. Each item has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by 5percent. The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
